What is TokenTourney?
TokenTourney is a gaming platform that provides users with a way to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences and unique prizes. Players buy their entry into a tournament and compete against others in hopes of being the last one remaining to win the grand prize.
Players advance through rounds by making a series of real-world daily fantasy sports predictions. For example, will LeBron James (Lakers) score over or under 25.5 points against the Knicks?
But wait, there’s more... between any two rounds of a tournament, you can list your spot in the tournament for sale on our marketplace. Another player can then buy your spot and enter the tournament where you left off. This allows you to monetize your progress in the tournament and make money even when you don’twin the grand prize.
As a tournament gets closer to the final round, the value of your spot should increase as you have a greater chance of winning the grand prize. -
How do I play?
For each tournament, there will be a set time period during which you can buy an entry. Once that time expires or the maximum number of entries are sold, you can only join the tournament by purchasing an entry from another user on our marketplace.
Once you have bought an entry, you will be able to submit/edit your Round 1 predictions up until the round locks right before the real-world sporting events start.
About 1 hour after the final real-world sporting event ends, you will be notified by email that results are in, and you can check under "My Tournaments" to see if you advanced to the next round.
For some tournaments, you will be able to immediately make your predictions for the next round if you advance. For other tournaments, there will be a waiting period between when you find out if you advanced and when the next round’s questions become available.
Once the next round’s questions are available, you have up until the round locks right before the real-world sporting events start to submit/edit your predictions. Don’t forget, between any two rounds of the tournament, you have the ability to sell your spot on our marketplace. Please note that we currently do not allow users to sell their spots while real-world sporting events are in play. -
How does scoring work?
For each tournament round, you will be asked to make a series of over/under predictions as well as one fill-in-the blank prediction. You will receive 1 point for every correct over/under prediction. For the fill-in-the-blank prediction, you will get a decimal score between 0 and 1, depending on how close your prediction is to the actual result. If your prediction is exactly the same as the actual result, you will get the maximum score of 1 point.
We then add up your points for all predictions in a given round and rank all players in order from highest to lowest. Only those that rank within that round’s elimination threshold (ex., the top 50%) will advance to the next round.
If two players have the exact same round score, then it’s possible for a greater than expected percentage of players to advance to the next round. For example, 10 players start a round, and only the top 50% advance. If the users that ranked 5 and 6 both had the exact same round score, then both would advance to the next round. This would result in 6 out of 10 players advancing.
In the final round, if the top two scorers have the exact same round score, then the tiebreaker for who wins the grand prize is who submitted their answers first. -
How many people am I playing against?
The number of players in each tournament will vary. However, for each tournament, we set a maximum number of entries. You can view this by navigating to the main page of the tournament you are interested in. From there, you can see the number of players towards the top right under the header "Available Spots". For an upcoming tournament, the first number is how many entries are still available for purchase, and the second number is the maximum number of entries.
For an active tournament, that section will tell you how many players are remaining in the tournament. You can use this to help you decide whether or not you want to buy back in. -

Why do I have to verify my identity?
